Welcome email series is a very important phase of email marketing.  It is a series of emails that is sent to a new subscriber upon sign up.  It is usually a set of 3 or 4 emails that are aimed at letting the new subscriber know about what your future content would be.  It also aims at building a sort of intial relationship with your subscriber with an intention of taking your product or service to them and to engage them in your online business.

Make use of the power of automation provided by your email marketing platform to send automated welcome email series.  The first of these emails must be sent upon subscription automatically.  Thus the very first welcome email makes the new subscriber know what your product or service is.  The subscriber will get an idea about the pros and cons of your product or service.

The welcome email is the first of the welcome email series by which you welcome your new subscriber and thank them for subscribing to your email list.  It is a good idea to personalize this email as it can incite confidence into the mind of the recipient.  For example, 'Hi Robert! Welcome to my email list......' is a better way of framing the subject line in your welcome email.  This email also requests the subscriber to confirm their email so they can receive future emails with ease.

The introduction email introduces your subscriber to your brand.  This email should focus on building trust and also on expanding your brand-reach.  Mention the pros and cons of your product or service in this email so there is transperancy between you and the new subscriber.  This email may be sent just at the expiry of 24 hours after sending your welcome email.

Value email is your next email in the welcome email series that should be sent at least 2 days after the introduction email.  This email should voice out the value of your product and how your customers rated your product through their testimonials.  This email will cement a place for your product in the heart of the subscriber.  In this email you will do well to ask your subscriber or prospect or lead about their intention to see a demo of your product.  Thus a value email confirms your customer relationship aspect of marketing.

Call-to-action email is the next email that softly requests the subscriber to proceed with a purchase.  The content of this email should not be laden with sales pitch though.  Instead it may have a discount coupon or a kind of special offer for the would-be customer!  This way you can succeed in engaging the new subscriber so they can become a customer in the immediate future.  CTA email may be sent at least 2 days after the value email.
